Sarah B. Watson is a lifelong resident of Columbia, SC.
Committed to Community... Dedicated to Progress
She has lived in Irmo for 20 years; long enough to see it grow from the small town that it was, to the thriving community that it is today.
She wants to be instrumental in helping Irmo develop into the gateway community it is destined to become. She believes that leading that effort is the key to preserving the values, and character that the citizens of Irmo enjoy today.
Sarah is an active member of the Greenview First Baptist Church. She is a graduate of Furman University with a BA in Sociology.
She has used her twenty-five years of work experiences, as an Insurance adjuster and a Financial Services Representative, to help empower individuals, and community organizations
Sarah is exactly the kind of person we need on the Town Council. She is a listener; a trait that will allow her to HEAR your voice. She is poised and ready to be pro-active in responding to those issues that are important to you.
Her vision is anchored by her firm belief that Irmo should direct its growth and development, rather than allowing it to be dictated by others.
Sarah is very concerned that the US Census Department has recorded a negative growth for the Town in the 2010 census. A town that does not grow will die.
She believes that a pro-active approach will insure that Irmo grows in a direction that will allow us to chart our own fate, and control our own destiny.
Sarah has shown that she has the ability to be effective in dealing with bureaucracy, while keeping the best interests of the community at heart. She wants to combine new ideas with the basic values that we, as a community, share. We must take a pro-active approach to the issues that Irmo will face in the coming years.
Some have not heard much about Sarah Watson before this campaign, but that should not matter when you consider her as a candidate. While she has worked consistently for the community, she has also worked quietly. That one trait should endear you to her efforts. No headline grabber; she has been one of the steady forces that has worked to improve the quality of life in her community… your community… our community.
