GREATER COLUMBIA COMMUNITY RELATIONS COUNCIL
Sarah looks forward to working with this organization as it seeks to promote positive relationships within the community, equal opportunity and fair services for all members of the community and awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity.


CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE SAVANNAH RIVER SITE
Sarah’s appointment to this board, by the U.S. Department of Energy, in 2007 charges her with providing input, advice and recommendations to the DOE on environmental remediation, waste management, and related issues for the State of South Carolina.

CENTRAL MIDLANDS COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
Sarah’s appointment to this board in 2005 has allowed her to assist in the development of local and regional plans as well as providing local governments with planning and technical support to improve the quality of life within the region.

RICHLAND COUNTY ACCOMMODATIONS TAX BOARD
Sarah served on this board in 2004 and 2005, reviewing proposals and recommending how Richland County appropriated the Richland County accommodations tax funds.

THE AUNTIE KAREN FOUNDATION
Sarah is the acting Executive Director for the foundation and has served as the chairperson for foundation’s signature fundraising event, the Legends of… concert series. She has worked with this event since its inception in 2004.

MIDLANDS TECHNICAL COLLEGE, INSTRUCTOR
Sarah taught their Customer Service Specialist class in June of 2010

COLUMBIA COLLEGE SUMMER LEADERSHIP CAMP FOR GIRLS
Sarah was asked to develop and teach a personal money management class as part of the 2001 camp curriculum. She has also been a mentor for several of its students.

SOUTH CAROLINA PREVENT CHILD ABUSE
Sarah worked as a committee volunteer with Art-A-Must, South Carolina’s Prevent Child Abuse premier fundraising event in 2003.

LET’S SHARE AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC FESTIVAL
Sarah chaired the committee that brought this African American cultural festival, the brainchild of Alex and Vanessa English, to Columbia from 1993 to 2000.
